Bernice Mayer Mason was born on November 10, 1932 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Daughter of the late Timothy and Hattie Mayer. 

She graduated from Cranford High School in Cranford, NJ.  She married the Reverend Milton T. Mason Sr. on January 5th, 1952. They were blessed with five children, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Bernice was a life long and faithful member of St. Mark’s A.M.E Church in Cranford, New Jersey.  She served her church as an usher, missionary, and choir member. During her life Bernice was employed as an administrative assistant for Burry Biscuits, Camp Kilmer, Doctor Lomack, Allstate Insurance Company, Plymouth Printing Company, Macys Credit Service, and Cranford Public Schools. Bernice was also a member of Cranford Church Women United and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her sisters Rev. Edna Vaughan, Brenda Tarver and brothers Haywood Mayer, and Herbert Mayer. In addition to her natural siblings, she was blessed with six additional brothers - Richard, Gurney, Jimmie, Paul Smith, Earl Eagle and John Lee. 

Bernice Mason leaves to cherish fond memories of her children, Laura Graves (Harry), Milton T. Mason Jr. (Elizabeth), Eric Mason (Lashonda), David Mason, Bonnie White (Roshan); Goddaughter Marcia Matthews; Grandchildren Kristopher Mason, Erica Morris(Garvelle), Timothy Mason, Michelle Mason, Christelle Borger (Douglas), Kobe White, Kaci White, David Mason II, Melissa Mason, Harry Graves III; Great Grandchildren Isaiah Graves, Sydney Graves, Symone Graves, Yarriah Graves, Jakob Mason, Santana Nettles, Adaline Borger, and June Borger; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
