Bryan Taylor Bowser was born on July 24, 1980, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Cyle Bowser and Jacqueline McGhee Bowser. A lifelong resident of Linden, New Jersey, Bryan was educated in the Linden Public School System and graduated from Linden High School in 1999.
Raised in a faith-filled family, Bryan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Linden, where he sang in the junior choir and participated in the youth department.
During his high school years, Bryan played football, loved to be around his friends and met the love of his life, Angel L. Bowser. From their union came four beautiful children: Taylor Bowser, Amarye’ Bowser, Bryan T. Bowser Jr. (affectionately known as BJ), and Mylana Bowser. Bryan and Angel were together since 1997 and married in 2018, and their love and devotion to one another endured until his passing on September 22, 2025.
After graduation, Bryan enlisted in the United States Army. He completed basic training in Oklahoma before being stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. While serving, Bryan completed tours in Kuwait and Iraq before returning home in 2002.
Upon his return, Bryan pursued training at Lincoln Tech, where he became a certified HVAC technician. His skills quickly made him the “go-to” person for family and friends whenever something needed fixing. Over the years, Bryan worked with AJ Perry, Drew University, and several other companies, ultimately ending his career as a HVAC Technician for the City of Linden.
Bryan was a beautiful spirit—down to earth, easygoing, and full of humor. His laugh was contagious, his smile unforgettable, and his ability to use humor, even in the darkest of times, was his superpower. Bryan loved Rap music but R&B music is where he found his comfort. He often had Pandora playing while in the hospital or in the rehabilitation center; he was known as the patient that was quiet, enjoying his ‘good eats’ or for having his music playing in his room! He was never shy about showing off his smooth dance moves. He was also a die-hard New York Giants fan, loyal to his “Big Blue” no matter how much they made him mad or raised his blood pressure.
Above all, Bryan loved his family and friends deeply. He made sure everyone around him knew they were loved. His calm nature, generous heart, humble spirit and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Even through illness, Bryan never allowed his ailments to change his joyful spirit. He fought bravely for his country, and later for his family and life, until the very end.
On Monday, September 22, 2025, Bryan was called home to receive his wings. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacqueline McGhee Bowser and Cyle Bowser; his aunts RoseMarie Thomas and Carla McGhee; his uncle Sam Thomas; his cousin Jabari Thomas; his mother-in-law Deborah Jones, his grandparents Willie & Mary K. McGhee and Beverly and Bevly “Tootsie” Allen; and many other beloved family members who met him at the gates and welcomed him into Heaven.
Bryan leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Angel L. Bowser; his children, Taylor, Amarye, Bryan Jr. (“BJ”), and Mylana; his sisters, Shanda Bowser and Tamika Starling; his niece Swadeya Starling, father-in-law Douglas Jones (Henrietta), sisters-in-law, Kemisha VanDunk (Jeffrey) and Pamela Mack (James); brother in law Talie Tucker; his aunts, Diane McGhee, Audrey Ismaiel (LaQuan), Frances Green, Roberta Allen-Nelson( Calvin), Tammy Coney (Kenny); his uncles, Larry McGhee (Beatrice), Dennis “Putt” McGhee (Cassandra), Derrick McGhee, Andrew Allen and Tory Allen; and a host of other special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.
