Clifton George Anderson

CLIFTON GEORGE ANDERSON affectionately known by friends and family as “Spifee Clifee” was born to George and Sylvia Anderson in Manhattan, New York on May 20, 1949. Raised with heavy Trinidadian influence, Clifton lived his early years in Harlem, the Bronx, Corona, Queens and spent his adolescent and early adult years in Flushing.

His love for fast cars led him to graduate from Brooklyn Automotive High School in 1967. After being drafted during the Viet Nam war and completing basic training Spifee was medically discharged due to the severity of asthma that he suffered since childhood. 

A failed marriage, and struggle to find his way in New York led him to Cleveland, Ohio where he lived for a few years.

He returned to New York City in 1977 and worked as an auto mechanic until he relocated to a place he really loved, Los Angeles, California. 

Spifee returned to New York around 1986 and eventually studied and worked hard to become a certified and respected locksmith working for many years at JFK Airport. 

His locksmith expertise and willingness to help anyone he could led him to become a second/early responder at the World Trade Center after 911. 

Spifee lived a life of laughter and love. Everyone who ever knew him is forever touched by his jovial joking spirit or by his camera pointed in their face.
