Floyd Height was born on April 30, 1964, in Jersey City, NJ. He passed away on September 11, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Barbara Burr. He attended St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, NJ.

Floyd was known for his unique style and pride in his locs. He worked at Iron Mountain and most recently at ShopRite of Clark, where he was loved by colleagues and customers. He enjoyed cooking, grilling, traveling, and cheering on the New York Jets with family and friends.

He shared 20 years of marriage with Cassandra Height. He is survived by his children, Samirah Lightford, Alexis Calland, Mark Height, Mia Height, and James Height. He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Height. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Burr, his siblings, James “Peanut” Height, Anthony Height, Patricia Height, and Bryant Height.He is survived by two granddaughters Khamya Lightford and Nyla Robinson, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
