Frank Ashley Hickson of Union, New Jersey was born in Vermont, Saint Vincent on March 9, 1952. His mother was Elsie Hickson & Father Martin James. Frank Hickson died peacefully on May 21st, 2024, at Overlook hospital.
During his early childhood Frank lived in Mespotamia, Saint Vincent with his grandmother. After which, he moved to Vermont, Saint Vincent to live with his mother and othersiblings and cousins. Frank subsequently migrated to the United States in the 1980’s. He returned to Saint Vincent and subsequently married his wife of 36 years, Jennifer Henry in 1988.
Before migrating to the United States Frank had his own tailor shop and a small grocery store. In the U.S. he worked as a clerk at Pei Freed & Partners in New York City for many years before retiring. Frank was a very kind and generous person. He was very sociable and loved being around others, especially family and friends. His hobbies included photography and watching old movies. He gave his life to Christ and was baptized at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He faithfully observed the Sabbath day and would refuse to answer phone calls or engage in any activities on that day.
Frank is survived by his wife Jennifer Hickson, stepchildren, Nicholas and Lisa Stewart, brothers: Othniel Hickson, Benedict James, Victor James, Neri James, Leonard Dick, Michael Weeks, Oscar Williams.
Sisters: Antoinette Burke, Elverne Burke, Dian Hickson-Samuel, Gertrude Solomon, Lucy Theobalds, Crecentia James, Erlene James, Agness Griffith, Cecelia Weeks, Ingrid Weeks and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Frank is gone but will not be forgotten. We will miss him. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the joy and love he brought into the lives of those who knew him. May his memory live on in all of our hearts.
