Her aptitude for leadership soon led to her promotion as a supervisor of dispatchers within the esteemed New York Police Department. An alumnus of Dodge High School, Gail embodied the spirit of determination and perseverance. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a connoisseur of joy. Those fortunate enough to know her appreciated her delightful sense of humor. Gail had a remarkable propensity for cracking jokes, infusing warmth and laughter into every gathering.

Among her passions, Gail found great joy in traveling, often embarking on Union trips related to her career. She possessed a discerning eye for good cinema, cherished afternoons devoted to watching talk shows, and reveled in the exhilarating ambiance of basketball games, proudly rooting for her beloved Knicks. Music flowed through her life, as she frequently attended concerts that filled her heart with rhythm and connection. Moreover, her bond with her feline companion, Princess, provided solace and companionship that enriched her existence.

In her departure, Gail leaves behind a lineage marked by love and dedication. She is survived by her devoted son, Anthony James Barber, who undoubtedly carries forward her legacy of kindness and laughter. Additionally, her cherished sister, Betty Williams, along with Rev. Alfonzo Williams, continue to honor the vibrant spirit that Gail brought to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
