Janet Sue Brown was born on July 4, 1955 in Charlotte, N.C. to the late Willie and Viola Brown. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Raymond Brown, Edna Scudder, Ella Benifield, Priscilla Myers and sister in law Yvonne Brown. Janet peacefully departed her earthly house and gained her wings on Wednesday April 19, 2023 Janet was educated in the Newark Public School System and graduated from Weequahic High School in 1973. She earned her Dental Assistant Certification in 1974 and worked as a Dental Assistant for 48 years. Janet returned to school after decades of working in the dentistry field to obtain her dental radiology license and was certified in 2017. Janet ended her dentistry career and retired from Kinder Smile in Bloomfield, NJ in 2022. Janet met the love of her life Kenneth "Kenny" Riley in 1976 and they were blessed with their only daughter Kendra Latisha Pearlman. The bond she shared with her daughter was unbreakable. Kendra a.k.a. "Kenny" was her entire world and she dedicated her life to being a loving and caring mother. Janet had a special bond with each and everyone of her nieces and nephews and she stood in the gap to be a cheerleader, confidant, friend and second mother for all of her siblings children. Aunt Jan's house was the place where we all went to gather for holidays, cook-outs and weekend parties. To know Jan was to love her, she was loved by all who knew her. Janet accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Roselle, N.J. for many years.
