Jessie Marie Durham, lovingly known as “Desa,” was born on May 27, 1962 in Warren County, North Carolina, daughter of Lucy Durham and the late Ellis Durham. She attended and graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 1980 as well as graduated from Jefferson Business School in 1987.

Jessie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and spirit touched everyone she met. She was blessed with two beloved daughters, Tanerra Durham of Austell, Georgia, and Trinity Peace of Roselle, New Jersey. She also leaves behind two cherished granddaughters, Shayana Winborne and Sasha Roberson, who brought her immense pride and joy. Three loving aunts; Lelia Brown of Roselle, NJ; Alberta Jefferson (John) of Dunellen, NJ; Vivian Joseph of Norlina, NC and host of cousins and friends.

Jessie was a hardworking and dedicated professional. She spent many years employed at Sam’s Club as a merchandiser, where she earned multiple awards in recognition of her commitment and excellence. She also worked as a legal security professional for many years, All of her achievements reflects her determination and drive.

In her younger years, Jessie was full of life and energy. She enjoyed being a majorette dancer and loved roller skating as well as playing double dutch. These passions reflected her vibrant personality and love for movement, fun, and self-expression.

Jessie peacefully passed away on December 12, 2025, at Overlook medical center in summit, New Jersey, at the age of 63. She was predeceased by her father Ellis Durham.

Jessie “Desa” Durham will be remembered for her strength, dedication to her family, and the love she freely gave. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
