In Loving Memory of Kevin Roberts, Sr.
Kevin Roberts, Sr., age 69, of Wrens, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, after a brief illness. Born January 4, 1956, in Plainfield, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Fitzgerald and Catherine Shellman Roberts.
A graduate of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, New Jersey, Kevin proudly served in the United States Air Force. On March 27, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart, Gail Scott, and together they raised two children, Tameko Joy (Roberts) Herbert and Kevin Roberts, Jr. During a period of separation, Kevin was blessed with another daughter, Jasmine Nicole Roberts.
Kevin’s passion for travel led to a long and successful career in the airline and tourism industry, including work with Eastern Airlines, US Airways, American and several airports and agencies. Later, he founded KRS Travel, where he became known as the “Travel Doctor.”
Notorious for wearing his two-piece walking suits, he had a distinguished style. Kevin loved Stacy Adams dress shoes and smelling of his signature scent, Calvin Klein’s “Obsession.” He enjoyed the soulful sounds of James Brown and The Whispers, was a devoted Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan, and found joy in recreating his mother’s chocolate chip cookies and making homemade waffles for breakfast. Cadillacs were his favorite car. Kevinloved people. His kindness, humor, and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew him.Kevin was a Christian who believed deeply in faith, family, and gratitude. He shared a special bond with his poodle Rusty, whose companionship brought him immense joy.
Kevin was predeceased by his brother Ronald L. Smith and close friends Thomas George McCall III (Tommie), Gilmore Daniels, and Sammie “Wali” Muhammed. He is survived by his children Tameko Joy Roberts, KevinRoberts Jr., and Jasmine Nicole Roberts; grandchildren Payton Chandler, Carrington Chandler, Anthony Herbert, Jr., Kevin Roberts III, and Kaylyn Roberts; brothers Raymond Roberts and Gerald Roberts (Myrna); sisters Rosilyn Watson (Donald) and Deborah Edwards; brother Gary Smith (Jaraysha); sister-in-law Helen Crawford; brother-in-law Jesse L. Scott (Valerie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends — including George “Hank” Davis Mike Connor, Gary “Smitty” Smith, Raymond “Kas” Sampson, Jay Long, and Patricia Blake.Kevin’s life was a gift — one filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
