Obituary

Nettie Olivia Jordan was born on May 5, 1951, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late Anna Mae Wallace and James Edward Richardson. She was one of four siblings and shared a close and enduring bond with her family throughout her life.

On June 6, 2026, Nettie peacefully transitioned to glory in her sleep at Eagle Rock Post Acute Care in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Nettie was educated in the Elizabeth Public School System. She was the loving mother of her eldest son, Johnnie Jameil Richardson. Later in life, on June 26, 1992, she married Clifford Jordan Jr. Their union was blessed with one son, Clifford Jordan III.

Nettie worked in retail for several years. Outside of her work, she was a strong Christian woman who faithfully served at Bibleway Deliverance Center in Roselle, New Jersey, as a member of the Usher Board and the Missionary Department. She loved gospel music, worshiping, and praising the Lord, and she cherished her church family.

Nettie had a contagious laugh and a special way of making everyone around her feel comfortable, loved, and encouraged. She loved her siblings deeply, and the bond they shared was truly special. They were a close-knit family who supported one another through life’s joys and challenges. Nettie also enjoyed shopping, dressing elegantly, and styling hair. She was a beautiful woman with a joyful spirit, a generous heart, and a warm presence that touched everyone she met.

Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Mae Wallace and James Edward Richardson; her sisters, Eleanora Richardson and Carol Richardson Smith; her brother, James Richardson; and her beloved eldest son, Johnnie Jameil Richardson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Clifford Jordan Jr.; her son, Clifford Jordan III; her nephew, Kevin Mingo (Ethel); her nieces, Roberta Randle (Andre), Victoria Goyins (Theodore), Audrey Roney, and Linda Richardson; and a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
