Vivian Williams Lester was born September 10, 1935, to Charlie and Rose Anna Williams in Bath, South Carolina. She was the first of four children, and was preceded in death by Robert, Rae and Leroy and son, Joseph Lester, Jr. The family relocated to Elizabeth, New Jersey where she attended public school. At the age of 12 Vivian accepted Christ and was baptized, at Liberty Baptist Church. She served as an Usher and sang on the Emergency Choir. She later joined the Good Neighbor Baptist Church and served as Usher Board President. Vivian lived a life serving the Lord, loving those around her and imparting wisdom on all that she met. From an early age she demonstrated a sense of responsibility, thoughtfulness and consideration for her elders. She was especially close to her grandmother, Mariah Jones. Vivian later married Joseph E. Lester, Sr of St. Petersburg, Florida. This union produced 4 children Keith, Valerie, Joseph, Jr. and Michael. She instilled the value of education and the importance of having good morals and character. Her working career started at White Castle where she was promoted to assistant manager. She later worked at General Hose and was promoted several times in her 20 years there. Continuing to accept new challenges Vivian changed careers and cared for mentally disabled women at a Staten Island facility until her retirement. She then relocated to North Augusta, South Carolina to care for her mother. She leaves to cherish her memories: Sons: Keith Lester (Luz), Graniteville, SC, Rev. Lester (Angelika), Michael Lester, Jr, Alexandra Lester Step-grandchildren: Robert Ellis, Jr, Landel Ellis, Kendrina Ellis, Gerel Valentine Sister-in-law: Agnes Williams 6 Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family
