William Bailey Jr

William Bailey Jr., 73 of Piscataway, New Jersey transitioned peacefully at home on October 2, 2025. He was born on Monday, July 21, 1952 in Newark, New Jersey to the late, William Henry Bailey and Jessie Mae Sanford Bailey.

He was educated in the Newark public school system and went on to pursue a technical degree in analytical chemistry. He began his career at Schering Plough in Union, NJ and retired from International Flavors and Fragrances in Dayton, NJ. He spent over 40 years as a respected analytical chemist and was known for his dedication to his craft.

William married the love of his life, the former Deborah Cage.

From this union three children were born: daughter Whitney, William, and Marcus.

William loved music especially that of Motown (Marvin Gaye in particular) and spending time with his grandchildren. His comedic nature will be missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Dr. Deborah C. Bailey of Piscataway, daughter Whitney N. Bailey of Somerville, son William Nicholas Troy Bailey of Edison, son Marcus Jermaine Alexander Bailey (Eryn) of Elyria, Ohio, Sandra Johnson (Joe) of Delaware, Linda Bailey of Newark and Lamont Bailey of Newark. He is also survived by grandchildren Kyrah and Julian as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William is predeceased by his parents, brothers Charles and Robert, and sister Barbara
